Is there anything as satisfying as cleaning and throwing things away? I do not like doing household chores at all - I have a hubby, my crow, that does that for me BUT I do like to spend time, when I am rested, going through all of our stuff and paring down.
All day yesterday I worked on our living room. It now looks and feels restful and inviting. Well, I should say that it looked inviting. My good egg had 5 of her friends here for a sleepover last night and it is now a little worse for wear. They were up until close to 4am eating popcorn, watching movies and hanging out.
Today I am tackling the studio. I have a bad habit of letting projects pile up on top of each other until you can no longer see the surface of the table or whatever. This gets really bad when you consider that my projects can include paper, canvas, fabric, jewelry bits etc. Everything becomes one big mess. I have been going through things like a whirling dervish - recycling tons of paper, filling a give away box and discovering lost treasures.
I had almost forgotten that the file cabinet was green on top! Notice the shoe? It is one of my wedding shoes. Where is the other one you ask? No idea! It got lost in one of our many moves - 13 moves in 15 years. One day, I plan to make a shadow box using the shoe and some other wedding paraphrenalia. We had the bride and groom from my parents' wedding cake on our cake as well and I want to put it in the box. Yet another project to put on my to do list!
