I remember...
walking with Mr. Jiggs in the Endowment Lands
baking together
"my mom can drive!"
sex ed lessons drawn in the dirt path
fishing at the beach
Friday Harbor
pirate treasure hunts at Saltspring Island
the Pop Shoppe
hugs
books, books and more books
lunches at the Faculty Club
waiting for you outside the Convent
our scenic route drive from Queen's to NY
your cousin's velvet Elvis painting
watching you play solitaire
being given the freedom to become myself
late night pick ups after the movies and McDonald's
walks in the gardens
hanging out in the vivarium
berry picking
"refrigerators" for dessert
dissecting a frog on our back porch
stopping at each and every historical marker from here to S.C. and back!
fried rice for breakfast
frozen birds in our freezer
you in the stands at so many of my swim meets
your love, always your love, holding me close
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I love you!
How beautiful. What an adventurous, loving and fun childhood your mommy gave you! What an amazing woman :)

Yes, my mother is a pretty amazing woman. If I can be only half as great I
will consider it a job well done! I printed out this post and framed it for
her for Mother's Day and she really loved it. We had such a nice time
thinking back and telling my daughter about each thing on my list.
